Our Story
Helping businesses capture customers since 2005
We’ve been in the business of connecting businesses with their customers for a long time, long enough to remember when a listing in the local business directory was the cornerstone of any small business marketing strategy. We were there, as a publishing company, when print directories became obsolete almost overnight, replaced by something called Google Search. We transformed our business, helping our clients navigate that shift, when most of their competitors were still trying to work out what had just happened.
We’ve seen this before
In 2005, we launched a local business directory that grew to reach nearly 300,000 readers across Brisbane’s southern and western suburbs. We understood, better than most, the value of being in front of the right customer at the right moment.
By 2011, we could see the writing on the wall for print. Google had fundamentally changed how people found businesses, and the old playbook was becoming obsolete. So we pivoted, closing the print operation and remaking ourselves as a digital communications consultancy, focused on helping businesses make the transition to inbound and search-based marketing.
Over the next decade and a half, we worked with businesses across a wide range of industries, developing content strategies, building digital marketing capabilities, and producing the kind of high-quality writing that earned genuine search rankings, without paying for every click. Our content was published in major national newspapers and industry publications. Our clients learned to be found, not just advertised.
We spent fifteen years mastering the art and science of SEO.
Now, everything is changing, again
Artificial intelligence is quietly and rapidly transforming how people find information — and how they find businesses. The search bar is giving way to AI-powered assistants that synthesise information, make recommendations and answer questions directly. Consumers are increasingly turning to tools like ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews and other AI-driven platforms instead of scrolling through pages of search results.
For small and medium-sized businesses, this is not a distant threat. It is already happening.
The good news? The rules of AI optimisation are not so different from what we have always done: create genuinely useful, authoritative, well-structured content. But the specifics matter enormously, and getting them right requires expertise that most businesses simply don’t have in-house.
That’s where we come in.
Who we are
Our team brings together more than two decades of experience across digital marketing, content strategy, customer experience and communications. We have led marketing functions in education, property, vocational training and professional services. We have managed large-scale digital transformation projects, overseen enrolment and customer acquisition campaigns, and built and led high-performing content and marketing teams.
We have managed Google and Meta advertising platforms, built CRM-integrated marketing systems and developed content strategies that deliver measurable commercial outcomes. We understand the full customer lifecycle, from the moment someone searches for a solution to the moment they become a loyal client, and we know how to create content that moves people along that journey.
Critically, we are not newcomers to AI. We have been active early adopters of AI-enabled tools in our own work, and we deeply understand how these platforms consume, evaluate and surface content. That knowledge is built into everything we produce.
Who we work with
Content to Capture works with a carefully selected range of industries, and that selection is deliberate.
Our primary clients are:
-
Real estate agents
-
Financial advisors
-
Wineries
-
Luxury experience providers
-
Accountants
-
Fitness professionals
We didn’t choose these industries at random.
We chose them because we have spent years working in them, marketing for them, writing about them, or holding formal qualifications relevant to them. That depth of experience changes everything about the quality of content we can produce.
Most content agencies learn your industry from a brief and a Google search. We already know it.
We understand the language your customers use, the questions they ask before they commit, the trust signals that matter in your profession, and the stories that turn browsers into buyers. That insider knowledge means we don’t just write about your business, we write with the authority of someone who genuinely understands it.
This is our core difference: storytelling plus structure. Great content needs both.
Structure ensures AI platforms can parse, evaluate and surface your content to the right audience at the right moment. Storytelling ensures that when a human being reads it, they feel something; curiosity, confidence, desire, trust. One without the other produces content that either ranks but doesn’t convert, or reads beautifully but never gets found.
We bring both. Every time.
The result is that our clients don’t just appear in search results, they become the recognised voice of authority for their profession in their area. When someone in your suburb asks an AI assistant who the best financial planner, most knowledgeable real estate agent or most trusted fitness professional is, we want the answer to be you.
While our focus industries are where we do our deepest work, we are always open to conversations with businesses in other sectors. If you have a compelling story to tell and a market worth capturing, we’d love to hear from you.
Why we do what we do
We are not a large agency. We don’t want to be. Our model is deliberately focused: a small number of clients per profession, per area.
We built this business because we believe small and medium-sized businesses deserve access to the same quality of strategic content that large organisations take for granted. The AI revolution is not going to wait for everyone to catch up. But with the right content, in the right format, optimised for the right platforms, your business can be among the first that AI recommends, not the first to be left behind.
Content to Capture works with real estate agents, wineries, luxury experience providers, accountants, financial planners and fitness professionals, as well as selected businesses in other industries.
